gertrude m books is a fiction imprint of Circling Rivers. Its profits go toward supporting Circling Rivers’ continuing publication of poetry and literary nonfiction.

The imprint is named in honor of Gertrude Moakley (1905–1998), career librarian at New York Public Library and a pioneer in the scholarly study of the history and iconography of the tarot.
